Mythology and the bible
Theory of Jesus

When examing the old testament and compare it to let us say Greek mythology, one can see some similarity.   For instance, in the area of the talk of moses, it is almost saying that they believed that God lived on Mt. Sinai, or basically that it was his mountain.  God also is the creator of all his angels.  In Greek mythology,  Zues the creator, king or father of all the gods, lived on Mt. Olympus.  Greek mythology had the titans, the bible had the angel/human hybrid giants, nordic religion had their fire giants.
How much of the old testament is really stolen from other religions or vice versa?  How wrong were those religions when compared with the similarities?
If you ever check out any website that has information dealing with the hierarchy of the angels, and some of the descriptions of different angels, you can see an even more similarity of some of the greek gods.
Some christian religions even pray to some of these angels, or even saints, having them be basically in charge of some aspect of life.  Like traveling or what not.  Basicaly instead of saying that who they are praying to is a god of travelors or whatever, that they are praying to saint so and so.  Basically just putting a different name in place of the word god.   I'll be doing some more research in regards with specific saints and angels and their respective denotations.
But anyways, much of the old testament seems to be more of myth then fact, like the tower of babel, seems to be more of a parent trying to explain to a child why other people speak a different language.  Because logically, why would God, punish people like he did for trying to build a tower to heaven?  Could they have possibly achieved it?  Especially since nowadays, we have flown higher then they could have possibly made it.

Regarding Noah's Ark.
Fact:  the story of Noah's ark is a rewritten story of earlier sumerian/babylonian myths.   But in sumerian myth, the flood was just a great flood in that land area.
Which actually that would make more sense.  For one, that was the world to the people of that time.   It was their whole world, many didn't know of any area beyond where they were.
Fact:  much of the land in that area is actually below sea level.   Which could allow more of a possibility of a large flood.
Fact: the dimensions/size of the Ark as given in the bible, is no where near large enough to house 2 of every species of animal in the world, both land and air.  For instance, just in North America there is over 66 different species of bat.
So how true is the story of the Ark?  or more to the point, how accurate is the bible in regards with this?
